We’ve talked about the albums dropping in the second half of 2025, but what good is new music if you can’t hear it live, feel the rumble, and lose your voice screaming along with thousands of your closest friends? The back half of this year is absolutely stacked with major rock festivals and powerhouse tours that will satisfy every craving from classic rock anthems to bone-crushing metal.

Get your calendars out, because you’re going to want to mark these down. From multi-day extravaganzas to legendary bands hitting the road, 2025 is far from over when it comes to live rock music!

The Festival Circuit: Your Destination for Massive Lineups

If you like your rock served up with multiple stages, diverse lineups, and an undeniable communal vibe, these festivals are calling your name.

  • Rocklahoma (Pryor, OK): August 29-31, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: Labor Day Weekend means one thing for many rock fans: Rocklahoma! This festival in the heart of Oklahoma is a powerhouse for hard rock and metal, often featuring some of the biggest names in the genre. Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin are already on the bill, promising a loud end to summer.
  • Louder Than Life (Louisville, KY): September 18-21, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: One of the biggest rock and metal festivals in the US, Louder Than Life consistently delivers massive lineups across multiple stages. Get ready for four days of pure auditory assault with acts like Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, and Bring Me The Horizon already announced. This is a must-attend for serious hard rock fans.
  • Riot Fest (Chicago, IL): September 19-21, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: A unique blend of punk, rock, alternative, and quirky surprises. Riot Fest is famous for its eclectic lineups and bands playing full albums. This year sees Green Day, Weezer, and Blink-182 leading the charge, ensuring plenty of sing-alongs and crowd surfing.
  • Aftershock Festival (Sacramento, CA): October 2-5, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: The West Coast’s answer to Louder Than Life, Aftershock brings four days of heavy-hitting rock and metal to Sacramento. With Korn, Bring Me The Horizon, and Deftones slated, expect another stacked bill that will leave you hoarse but happy.
  • When We Were Young Festival (Las Vegas, NV): October 18-19, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: The festival that launched a thousand emo singalongs returns! This pop-punk/emo/alternative extravaganza has become a pilgrimage for fans of the early 2000s sound. With Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, and Weezer confirmed, it’s going to be an emotional (and loud) reunion.
  • Headbangers Boat (Miami, FL to Bahamas): October 31 – November 4, 2025
    • Why You Need To Be There: Take your metal to the high seas! This unique festival cruise offers an intimate experience with bands and fellow fans. Expect a lineup of heavyweights like Lamb of God, Clutch, and Kublai Khan TX in a truly unforgettable setting.

Major Tours: Don’t Miss These Headliners

Beyond the festivals, several rock giants are embarking on their own tours, bringing their massive stage shows directly to cities near you.

  • My Chemical Romance – “Long Live: The Black Parade 2025 North American Stadium Tour”
    • Dates: Kicking off July 11th and running through September 13th.
    • Why You Need To Go: The emo icons are celebrating their seminal album The Black Parade by playing it in full at stadiums across North America. This is more than a concert; it’s a cultural event. Expect pyro, theatrics, and an emotional journey for every fan who grew up with this album. Supporting acts include Alice Cooper and Death Cab for Cutie on select dates – talk about an eclectic bill.
  • The Offspring – “Supercharged Worldwide in ’25 Tour”
    • Dates: Kicks off July 11th, running through September 7th.
    • Why You Need To Go: Get ready for some classic California punk-rock energy! The Offspring are bringing their high-octane show to venues around the globe. Expect all the hits and plenty of high-energy antics. They’ll be joined by New Found Glory and Jimmy Eat World on various dates, making for a potent pop-punk/alternative triple-threat.
  • Oasis – “Oasis Live ’25”
    • Dates: Starting July 4th in Europe, reaching North America on August 24th, concluding September 13th in Mexico City. (All dates reportedly sold out).
    • Why You Need To Go: The reunion we thought would never happen! Liam and Noel Gallagher are apparently burying the hatchet (at least temporarily) for a massive world tour. If you managed to snag tickets, prepare for Britpop anthems and potentially a few brotherly jabs.
  • Metallica – “M72 World Tour”
    • Dates: Continuing through June 29th for its North American leg, with international dates later in the year. (This is primarily a first-half-of-2025 tour but worth noting if you missed earlier dates, as some may still be in the latter half).
    • Why You Need To Go: If you want raw, unadulterated metal from the undisputed kings, Metallica’s M72 tour features two unique nights with no overlapping setlists, playing in the round. A truly immersive experience for the faithful.
  • Heart – “Royal Flush Tour” & “An Evening With Heart”
    • Dates: Running through much of the summer, with various configurations.
    • Why You Need To Go: Ann and Nancy Wilson continue to prove why they’re rock legends. Expect powerful vocals, iconic guitar riffs, and all the hits from one of rock’s most enduring bands. They’ll be joined by Todd Rundgren and Cheap Trick on select dates.
  • ZZ Top – Fall 2025 Tour
    • Dates: Touring the U.S. throughout the fall.
    • Why You Need To Go: The “Little Ol’ Band from Texas” continues to bring their unique blend of blues, boogie, and rock to stages everywhere. Expect slick guitars, iconic beards, and a whole lot of “La Grange.”

This is just a taste of the rock and metal action coming your way in the second half of 2025. Keep those eyes peeled on band announcements and local venue schedules, because you never know when your favorite band might announce a surprise run. Get out there, support live music, and let’s keep the spirit of rock alive and LOUD.
