Support George Thorogood’s Marla Thorogood Memorial Fund for Ovarian Cancer Research with a limited-edition t-shirt and super cool opportunity. George established the memorial fund to honor the memory of his late wife, Marla, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2019 and to provide vital funds for ovarian cancer research.
Fans can help support the cause by participating in a unique promotion that runs through the end of September – Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
A limited-edition t-shirt featuring the Destroyers logo in the color teal (the official color of Ovarian Cancer Awareness month) is on sale now. 100% of the net proceeds will go to the fund. A special code will be given to each person with the purchase of the shirt. The code provides the buyer exclusive access to exciting George Thorogood content and other surprises. That code will only be available to those who purchase a t-shirt to benefit the fund.
Starting September 1, 2020, fans that have purchased the limited edition t-shirt will be asked to post photos wearing the shirt(s) and share on their Facebook and Instagram accounts using official tags provided by the Thorogood team. A winner will be randomly chosen from all photos posted. The winner will receive a very special, private virtual visit from George Thorogood where he will deliver a special acoustic performance and conduct a Q&A session with the winner.
The promotion is a first of its kind for Thorogood and gives fans the opportunity to have a private visit from the rocker in the comfort of their own home. Details and rules are outlined at www.georgethorogood.com “I am dedicated to supporting ovarian cancer awareness, education and research that will lead to providing screenings and educating more women about this disease,” said Thorogood. “It is important for women to get annual exams and take charge of their health.
