Blakck Sabbath's Iron Man, written by Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, is the story of a man who time travels into the future, and sees the apocalypse. In the process of returning to the present, he is turned into steel by a magnetic field.

The second single from Black Sabbath's 1970 album Paranoid, Iron Man was named the top song on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs in 2006 and ranked Number 6 on the 1990 ZRock 1000.
