The wait is over. After years of being snubbed by the suits in Cleveland, the titans of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal have finally breached the walls. Iron Maiden is officially headed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.

While the Hall usually plays it safe, they couldn’t ignore the legacy of Eddie and the boys any longer. This isn’t just a win for Maiden; it’s a win for every ZRock fan who knows that The Number of the Beast is basically a sacred text. 🤘
Who Else Made the Cut?
The rest of the Class of 2026 is a wild blend of genres, featuring:
- Billy Idol: The original punk-rock sneer gets his due.
- Oasis: The Gallagher brothers are taking their Britpop swagger to the podium.
- Joy Division/New Order: The masters of post-punk and synth-rock.
- Wu-Tang Clan: Bringing the ruckus to the Hall for the first time.
- Rick Rubin: The legendary producer (who turned up the volume for everyone from Slayer to Metallica) is being honored for Musical Excellence.
The “ZRock Take”
Look, we know names like Phil Collins and Sade aren’t exactly on your “Gym Sesh” playlist. But seeing Iron Maiden and Billy Idol get their flowers on the same stage as Rick Rubin? That’s a night of rock history we can get behind.
The induction ceremony is hitting the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on November 14th. You can bet we’ll be watching to see if Bruce Dickinson uses his speech to remind everyone why metal deserved to be there all along.
What do you think, ZRockers? Is the Hall finally starting to get it right, or is Maiden’s induction 10 years too late?
