Black Tooth Bash

Black Tooth Bash was held May 17,2007 at the House of Blues Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA.

The evening began with the auction of SIX-STRING MASTERPIECES: THE DIMEBAG DARRELL ART TRIBUTE is a collection of over 60 DEAN ML guitars that have been hand-painted by world-famous Rock Stars and internationally known Tattoo & Visionary Artists in a memorial tribute to one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Dimebag Darrell Abbott. Proceeds for the auction benefit The Little Kids Rock Foundation (501C3), the charity of choice for Dimebag Darrell.

Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed and Headbanger’s Ball opened the night by introducing the opening set by members of the L.A Chapter of the Little Kids Rock. Things then kicked into high gear with performances by Vinnie Paul Abbott and many of Dimebag’s friends, including Scott Ian, Ace Frehley, Dave Navarro, Ripper Owens, John 5, Pearl Aday, Bob Zilla (Damageplan), Aaron Lewis (Staind), Eddie Jackson and Mike Stone (Queensryche), Brent Smith and Jasin Todd (Shinedown), Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, Matt Byrne (Hatebreed), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), and Doug Pennick (King’s X).

Early acoustic performances included Been A While by Aaron Lewis (Staind), Simple Man by Brent Smith and Jasin Todd of Shinedown, Alice in Chains, and Wish You Were Here with Pearl Aday on vocals, accompanied by Scott Ian and Jerry Cantrell on acoustic guitars.

Things kicked into high gear with Chester Bennington and Dava Navarro joining forces, covering Jane’s Addiction, Led Zepplin, and AC/DC. Doug Pinnick of King’s X joined Alice in Chains onstage, and Tim Ripper Owens tore thru selections including Van Halen, and Judas Priest with Eddie Jackson and Mke Stone of Queensryche with Hatebreed’s Matt Byrne on drums. After a dazzling array of powerhouse classics, Ace Frehley led a high-energy Cold Gin. with Vinnie Paul on drums. The evening ended with a bang as all musicians took the stage for Pantera’s Walk.

Jarrod ~ thanks so much for posting these pics… I was fortunate to be there as well and wow… what an incredible evening. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many rock greats in one spot at the same time. I travelled from Eugene OR, picked up my bro, and met 4 friends in LA to see this. The induction was amazing… so incredibly touching and heartfelt. The auction was great and the show was fucking awesome, to say the least. Again, thanks for sharing the night with the rest of the world… nice shots!! Peace Sugar – said SugarTaste on Jun 06, 2007
