Z weeks

How many of you remember the old Z weeks? They would celebrate a certain band for each of these. And give out complete CD catalogues of that band or artist along with other stuff. If you were lucky enough to get through on the phone lines they would ask a question relevant to the band. This went on for quite a while. The winners would yell out ZROCK!!! as loud as the could.Man those were the days. All though short lived in my town it was the best rock radio we had.Our other rock station would play starship and weak stuff like that. Then you would tune into Zrock and here some killer King Diamond song.I hope someday ZRock will have some kind of a return. – said Nitehawk777 on Mar 03, 2005

Oh yeah! Z Weeks were fun! It was great giving away complete CD libraries from cool bands and playing CD’s all the way through! AC/DC, KISS, Great White, Motley Crue, it was one of the best features from the classic Z days. 💡 Maybe other radio stations will pick up on that? Naaah! 🙄 Paine – said CrazyMikePaine on Mar 03, 2005

basicaly what I said in my first post. The idea was to get people to listen and win stuff from their favorite bands. I’m not sure if they played an album side or the entire record. When they did that you would be asked a question about that band or simply just call in and win free stuff. This would go on the entire week. I was lucky enough to get in a few times. I won a Great White CD catologue once and 12 hard n heavy video magazines. It was a great time. We had ZROCK for only a year and a half. Still rocked harder then any station in my town. – said Nitehawk777 on Mar 03, 2005
