Inspired by a recording session at the legendary Chess Studios in hometown Chicago resulting in the 2004 digital download and radio success of its rendition of The Beatles I Am The Walrus, Styx has recorded its interpretation of the great rock & roll songbook. Big Bang Theory, released May 10, 2005, is the first studio album from Styx, one of the rock era’s most popular bands, since 2003’s Cyclorama.

My favorite Styx song is Mr. Roboto This one just got stuck in my head a lot when I was in gramer school. Everbody was writting down Killroy was here after that came out hehe.Styx is a great band and I still listen to their music today.Brings back a lot of good memories. Wow, where to begin. I have Styx’s Greatest hits album in my car RIGHT NOW… how bout that for a coinincidence. I wore out so many copies of Pieces Of Eight it’s crazy. I think [u:a9ca3ac1fa][b:a9ca3ac1fa]Renegade [/b:a9ca3ac1fa][/u:a9ca3ac1fa]is my all time favorite, but there are just SO many good songs/albums by this band. (Blue Collar Man, Suite Madam Blue, Come Sail Away, Crystal Ball) I have listened to samples of these songs and this album is very very cool. Much like Rush’s recent covers album. The musicianship is impressive as always. I just watched I am the Walrus on a VH1 classic/current video last night and was amazed at what an amazing version of this song they have created. The song maintains that mystic Lennon quality and yet somehow also really really rocks. This was on my list of albums to buy so I will enthusiastically enter this contest!
