Thanks for stopping by. This is just the beginning of the new incarnation of zrock. At zrock, the music still matters. Are you tired of the same ol stuff on your local radio? When's the last time you heard bands like Pantera, Ratt, or Slayer on the dial? Remember when music involved involved musicians? We're building the new site based on what the people want. Wanna hear Motorhead or Dio? Tell us! Want info on your favorite bands? How about exclusive interviews, ticket giveaways and tour updates?
We believe that the fans haven't given up on rock music, but that alot of stations have given up on the fans. We want to change it and BRING THE POWER TO THE PEOPLE. Help us bring the mighty zrock back to the days of LOUD AND PROUD. Tell us what you want, tell a friend, and check back often. This is just the beginning...... |

when will you be hitting the air? where are you planning on starting? i am guessing houston. i just moved from there but will be beack in a year. i miss all the good hard rock that has been absent since zrock left houston. things have never been the same. the entire rest of the country has better stations than houston.. i will do what ever i can to help you rule the airwaves again. p.s. do you know what ever happened to all the old zrock deejays? |

Currently we are in the initial stages of development, but we are planning to start on the web so we can reach fans worldwide.

We receive lots of requests for a "where are they now" update. We will be posting our findings soon. |

not trying to burst your bubble, but internet radio just never has worked unless you have money to pay deejays and access to many different cd's. the problem is when funds are short, they quit accessing new tunes and get in a rut and loose listenenrship. zrock is meant for the radio not the net. |

Thanks for the feedback. Your point is well taken. The same is true of traditional stations - keep listeners happy or lose em. Various options are being explored. In the short term, we are trying to build a community and gauge the interest - certain markets are prime for zrock, while others are not. In addition, we want to provide a means for people to enjoy their type of music - keep them up to date on when bands are touring, provide an outlet for people to share their experiences, etc. It all starts with the fans. Although some of our favorite bands aren't on the biggest labels or playing the biggest venues, they are still providing entertainment for the fans. |

well then get some music spinning on here. the problem is nobody turns to the internet to listen to music, like they do the radio. you will need to advertise to get people to this site. i found it by accident looking for old zrock info. advertising dollars are very limited in internet radio and this is why money is lost quickly doing this. the trend of the early 2000's is for stations to try internet and close quickly. keep rocking and i will keep checking back. |

thats exactly the thing i liked about zrock. it was next to impossible to get a request on. they kept it fresh and the music flowed witht the vibe. if they wanted to play 1/2 of ten by pearl jam they would no one said anything about it. the moment called for it. they always had new stuff appearing on the zrock 50. i hate listener controlled radio, because then you get in the rut of the same songs being played over and over because that is what certain people want. i like for the deejay to do it by mood. that is real programming of a radio station to me. |

Im sick of radio these days basically since corporations like Clear Channel and Infinity, and Ciditel took ownership to so many stations, all the radio stations in every city sound the same and play the same songs over and over again, and I say to myself I could not handle being a dj on the stations that play the same ol stuff over and over and over again. it would be sweet if Zrock came back and prove to corporate radio that THEY DONT ROCK. |

I can remember when you guys had a frequency in Cincinnati (96.5) and I got up one day and found it had gone COUNTRY. The ultimate reason is that it turned out you were drawing too many listeners from the radio station owner's other frequency(102.7). The point: hurry back and don't forget about the Cincinnati/Dayton area. There should be a ton of support from this area. Good to see ZRock is still around |

Z rock will not be coming back to cincinnati or any oter city
The Z rock you are referring to no longer exists it was an ABC
radio network that fed local affiliates via satilite, It went off the
air Jan,31 1996. Z-rock 106.7 Chico California kept the format, and
the house of 1000 pleasures riff for the commercial drop. But basically
became another active rock station.
This station may some day stream on the internet. But internet
only.sorry to burstyour bubble no Z rock comming to cinci. |

That's where your're wrong Nixonzm.....It's very importatnt for a "cool" station to take listener requests.....and act on them ---IF--- they are cool requests. Yes, there has to be--should be a "Vibe", and the DJ should ONLY play he thinks is cool. Only a loser would like the repetitivie AAA mess that Clear Channel feeds to the ignorant masses......
Think about all the really great Hard Rock music there is ou there......
and what little is actually aired over the "public's" airwaves.......
It is a cultural shame of this land that we have taken what used to belong to the "people" and turned almost ALL of it to corporations that use it soley for selling advertising. It's the crass jokes and the giveaways that attract their sorry audiences-----It's not good music !
FM Rock radio -----used---- to be a mile wide AND a mile Deep.
Rock radio of whatever stripe today is now extremely shallow and very narrow. Where is Radio for someone other than the ignorant masses? ? ? ? ? ?
I'm so glad to see that an appeals court has in the US has overturned new media ownership rules that would have allowed further concentration of television, radio and newspaper assets in the hands of a few companies.
