HOUSTON (June 21, 2004)— Summer is here and Houstonians are eagerly awaiting Major League Baseball’s biggest game of the season, the All-Star Game! The great restaurants, clubs and hotels in the Downtown Entertainment District are warming up for The Main Event Party at All-Star Week July 9-12, 2004. Plans are underway for an exciting 4-day party featuring great food and live entertainment indoors and out. Plan to come downtown, celebrate the Houston All-Star Game and discover the new downtown including historic landmarks, beautiful fountains and light rail.
The Main Event Party at All-Star Week will also feature The Bud Light outdoor stage on Prairie between Fannin and Main, and area clubs and restaurants will each offer specially selected live entertainment as well. Stay in a Downtown Entertainment District area hotel, and stroll each night and enjoy the many types of fun on the street and throughout the neighborhood. Whether your thing is wine tasting or wings, chef events and Sunday brunch specials will be available.
The Main Street Scene will be defined by special effects, signage and various food and beverage vendors along Main Street. Preston, Prairie and Main Street will be closed for the event site.
