SHOCK-ROCK BAND GWAR TO PLAY THE ENGINE ROOM
SUNDAY APRIL 25, 2004 : : : HOUSTON, TEXAS
Shock-rock, cult favorite band GWAR will headline the Engine Room on Sunday, April 25 as a stop on their “War Party Tour 2004.” The early 80s metal band, best know for their over-the-top on-stage personas and outlandish stage antics, will released a new CD entitled Let There Be GWAR which features demo tapes from 1986-1987. GWAR’s current line-up includes: Oderus Urungus, BalSac the Jaws of Death, Beefcake the Mighty, Flattus Maximus, Jizmak da Gusha, Slymenstra Hymen, Sexicutioner and Sleazy P. Martini.
GWAR has experienced a rare longevity based on their underground fan base. Their shows are legendary in terms of crowd participation and surprise horror elements. In addition to performing live, the band is featured in a series of Slave Pit Funnies comic books and numerous movies and DVDs that chronicle their unusual adventures.
