It's a true cult movie classic! This film plays on the PMRC era fear about rock lyrics poisoning the youth complete with ignorant parents and the rebellious easily influenced high school teens. The only difference is the famous band "Black Roses" decide to start their tour in tiny Mill Basin's high school auditorium!! They do have alterior motives...turn into Gwar-like monsters then possess the kids of Mill Basin and beyond with their heavy metal concerts! Mission accomplished..despite teacher Mr Moorhouse's (John Martin) ramblings! The kids start killing the pesky parents that get in their way. I enjoyed Black Roses "playing" (ok, lip-synced) the Lizzy Borden classic -Me Against The World- as the rallying cry for the band-turned-demons! What's the best way to kill a topless girl-turned-catmonster? Beat it wth a tennis racket of course! How can you deny the campy humor in the Soprano's very own "Big P*$$y" Vincent Pastore in his first movie role as angry dad Mr Ames getting eaten by an evil monster living in his son's JBL speaker? Don't forget about drumming legend Carmine Appice...I mean...Vinny Apache!! It's the same campiness level as KISS Meets the Phantom of The Park. Not nearly as polished as say Trick Or Treat but still hilarious! I'm not anticipating a DVD release anytime soon but you can still pick up a VHS copy on eBay for a few bucks. The movie soundtrack CD featuring Lizzy Borden, Bang Tango, Hallow's Eve, King Kobra (Carmine Appice's band at the time) is highly sought after and goes for BIG bucks. All in all, not for serious horror fans but a must for B-movie or heavy metal afficionados! Just my 2˘!
