The ZRock riff was from House of 1,000 Pleasures by EZO.

Perhaps Crazy Mike Paine can help out on the song by the DJ's

Hey Mike! Here's the info on the ZRock Ready song: It was recorded sometime in the summer of 1990 to help promote the upcoming "New Fall Season" programming features on ZRock. The music and main vocals of the song were performed by a Dallas, Texas band called Bellicose which was managed by then ZRock Program Director Pat Dawsey. Yes, all of us DJ's did sing the backing vocals after the main tracks were recorded (the "ZRock Ready" part). I believe (if memory serves) it was myself, Pat, Crankin Craig, Madd Maxx, Tyler Mason, Dave Bolt (Perry), Jason Lee Tipton, Matt Wolfe and maybe a couple more folks (Wipeout?). Opening lyics: "You gotta be more than just ready, READY! ZRock Ready!" Sorry that's all I can remember Embarassed We played the song sometimes on the air in '90 but it was never released as a single as far as I know. It was on a ZRock demo CD with sample airchecks and the song made to attract potential affiliates. I have one somewhere...hopefully I can find it! Smile Jarrod any time you need ANYTHING just let me know! Cool

Hey Crazy Mike,

Hi thanks for replying to my post, i had forgotten all about it being a band called bellicose, all I know is that even though it was just a promo , i had it recorded onto a cassette tape. and I know you know how crappy cassettes become after a while of overplaying them. It really sucks. I sure hope you can find a copy of it somewhere in you archives of music, and if you can I would really appreciate it if you could send me a copy over an email. Or if not , burn the song onto a blank cd and I will be more then happy to pay you for it. I really wish we had a Z-rock station here in oklahoma city, I love the Katt 100.5 , but I still miss the days of jamming to such shows as *too much * that was done once a month, and i always liked the daily contest backrockwards . It was a fun braintwister it made you think, I even won a few times. well anyway, thanks bro , and email me sometime at mike_thomas65@yahoo.com

HEY BRO THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY, I GOT IT JUST NOW, HAVE YOU FOUND THE Z-ROCK READY SONG YET, IF YOU EVER DO , SEND IT TO ME ON MY PERSONAL EMAIL AS A FILE ATTACHMENT. OR IF YOU DONT HAVE IT BUT KNOW WHO MAY, SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH THE PERSONS EMAIL ADDRESS . I REALLY MISS THAT SONG AND Z-ROCK IN GENERAL, HERE IN OKC, WE HAVE A STATION CALLED THE KATT, WHICH BLADERUNNER NOW WORKS AT, HE STILL ROCKS HIS ASS OFF, BUT THE MUSIC THEY PLAY IN GENERAL IS MORE LIKE TODAYS ROCK, AND IM SURE YOU WILL AGREE, TODAYS ROCK SOUNDS ALL THE SAME, NO INDIVIDUALITY LIKE THE OLD 70S-80S METAL. AND AS FOR SONIC, DUDE YOUR NOT MISSING NOTHING , THE LAST TIME I ATE THERE I GOT FOOD POISONING lmao . SO FEEL FORTUNATE THEY DONT HAVE'EM IN CHI TOWN
