Ahh yes, yet another opus from these Swedish masters of heavy metal mayhem! These guys usually have a good record for delivering excellence in their music, and this album hold true to their track record!

Even though this album has more of a techno sound, the thrash metal melodies, crunchy rythum guitars, an heart piercing lyrics are still there. These trademarks are definitely evident in the first single "The Quiet Place" where some of the lyrics are "Spinnning Further, Deeper / I know your our to try me / I'm not in this to be a slave" are lyrics that are sung with a demonic rage from singer Anders Friden.

One of the more notable songs on the record "Touch Of Red" have tough as nails Slayer-esque guitar rythums meshed in with sing-along choruses, make this album stand out. The song titled "Evil In A Closet" has a more sorrowful feel, with some lyrics such as, "We were one in words / You finished my sentence / The answer to my puzzle" were lyrics that hit way too close to home....not to mention the wicked bluesy solo delivered by Guitarist Jesper Stromland drove the point home.

I actually felt the emotion so much, that I had to actaully turn the CD off for an hour....never done that with an In Flames album before.

After i resumed listening to the cd, I enjoyed the thrash fest "In Search For I".........and "Superhero For The Computer Rage" is a song where the lyrics were written from a nightmare that Singer Anders Friden had one night.

That artwork is also intriguing and good to look at. My only complaint was the closing track "Bottled" which was overall a bad way to close out an album. Overall, this is a good album.....but not a masterpiece, like their last 2 studio albums "Clayman" and "Reroute To Remain" were.

It is, however, worth spending your time and hard earned money on....to track down the limited edition digipak of the album, with the bouns track "Discover Me Like Emptiness!" This song and the bonus artwork helps give the album a better closing and a better overall vibe!

Mister B,
I don't know if you have Colony, Whoracle & Clayman? Those are must haves. They strayed from their death metla roots on the last two records.
So much so that the hard core fans have been
refring to them as N*Flamz...
That's kinda unfair, I think.
Still this is a great band & I will keep buying the records as long as they are still metal.
