Mötley Crüe, the most controversial, reckless and outrageous band rock has ever seen, is back on the road and back on record. Reuniting Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, the world’s most infamous band returns with its first new songs from that original lineup since 1997. The new tracks--“If I Die Tomorrow,” “Street Fighting Man” and “Sick Love Song”--are featured on the definitive two-CD anthology Red, White & Crüe (Hip-O/Motley/UTV/UMe), released February 1, 2005, in both explicit and clean versions.

Red, White & Crüe is the sonic companion to the band’s forthcoming world tour, VH1 & VH1 Classic Present “Mötley Crüe: Red White & Crüe Tour 2005…Better Live Than Dead.” The tour kicks off February 17th in arenas in the U.S. and Canada before moving on to Latin America and the U.K. as well as European summer festivals before coming back to America for a 43-city amphitheater tour in August and September. In the fall, the rock-metal gods who have sold more than 40 million albums perform in Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Spanning the band’s entire career, Red, White & Crüe brings together all of the group’s hits and fan favorite album tracks. With 34 previously released tracks, Red, White & Crüe boasts twice as many selections as the single-CD “best of” packages--the double platinum 1991 disc Decade Of Decadence ’81-’91 and 1998’s gold Greatest Hits.
From the band’s down-and-dirty debut album, 1981’s Too Fast for Love, Red, White & Crüe culls “Live Wire,” “Piece Of Your Action,” “Toast Of The Town” and the title track (“Black Widow” hails from the album sessions but first appeared on 2004’s Music To Crash Your Car To, Volume 2 box set). 1983’s infamous Shout at the Devil was led by the Top 20 Album Rock hits “Looks That Kill” and “Too Young To Fall In Love” (here in a remix). Red, White & Crüe also includes its title track and “Helter Skelter.”
1985’s Theatre Of Pain scored the band’s first pop Top 40, a cover of “Smokin’ In The Boys’ Room,” and “Use It Or Lose It.” A remix of its “Home Sweet Home” would crack the Top 40 in 1991. A sleaze classic, 1987’s Girls, Girls, Girls yielded the Top 20 title tune, “Wild Side,” “All In The Name Of...” and “You’re All I Need.” 1989’s Dr. Feelgood spun off the Top 10s “Without You” and “Dr. Feelgood,” Top 30s “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)” and “Kickstart My Heart,” and “Same Ol’ Situation (S.O.S.).”
1993’s Mötley Crüe, with John Corabi replacing Neil, is represented by non-album versions of “Hooligan’s Holiday” and “Misunderstood.” Neil returned for 1997’s Generation Swine and its “Beauty,” “Afraid” (Alternative Rave Mix) and title track. The lascivious 2000 album New Tattoo, with drummer Randy Castillo, contributes “Hell On High Heels” and the “New Tattoo” single. First heard on various compilations were “Primal Scream,” a cover of the Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy In The U.K.,” “Planet Boom,” “Bittersuite,” “Bitter Pill” and “Enslaved.”
